RE: Do Workampers get to choose their site?

We have been able to pick our sites on a few workamping jobs. When searching for a job, we let them know what we have and would like to have a open area in the trees for the sat. dish. But with the sites we haven't been able to pick, we haven't had any complains about them. Now if the site is to small doe all our stuff and with the size of our truck, there have been a few places we had to put it in storage or on a different site within the campground/RV resort. But that has never been a problem either.

RE: The difference between dogs and cats...

"I'll take a cat neighbor over a dog neighbor any day. or night for that matter." - Until you go out to your flower bed and move some mulch to plant a flower for your wife and come back with a hand full of that neighbor's cat "deposits"!!!!! Nope will STILL take a cat over a dog anyday. ;)

RE: Not just Domestic's in trouble - VW , Porsche too

Hmm, then VW better start building more of the Jetta Sportwagon TDI. Here in Tucson, AZ. if you want one you have to pay the dealer $500. deposit. If they get one in you take it or the next person gets it. Was told they can't get enough of them. Long waiting list. And no we aren't on the list.

RE: Pastor?

We workamped at Quail Run RV Resort in Arizona City, AZ. the winter of 2006/2007. There was a pastor hired there. Don't know what he got, being free site or/and payment, but there is one place for you to check out for next winter.

RE: Toyota Matrix

The Pontiac Vibe is up to $3,000 less expensive and is the same vehicle as the Matrix except for the sheet metal on the front. Hmmm, I did a price search on edmunds on the Vibe and Matrix and what I wanted for options, the Matrix was $475 less invoice price then the Vibe. Go figure. :h

RE: Toyota Matrix

Research battery costs. Why? They have a 8 year 100,000 mile warranty.

Toyota Matrix

Test drove and like this one. Have it down to two cars, this and the Pruis. Do you have one? If so what year, model, engine size and any problems? Thanks.

RE: Kia automobiles

Well. I said Kia if we ever went that way. We are now thinking of selling our motorcycles and getting a car. Checked out the Kias. Wife wants a hatchback and gas mileage is improtant to us. The wife didn't like the seats on any of them. Right now she has fallen in love with two Toyotas. The Prius and the Matrix.

RE: Passports

I'm not exactly sure what a PMB is, but my daughter just got her passport renewed and it was sent to her post office box without a problem. Hope this helps. John PMB means Personal Mail Box.

Toyota Prius

Do you have a Toyota Pruis? If so what year? How many miles have you put on it, are you happy with it? Not? Any problems? If so what?

RE: Not counting your wife

I'm not afraid. Our neighbor. She is in her early 20s. She drives a silver Ford Mustang. Came out of her home a few days ago wearing a short, skin tight red dress. :p Looked good. :B

RE: Goodyear 614 Ply Separation

Have lost three Goodyear G614s due to tread coming off on our trailer. 1st one, Sept. '07. 2nd and 3rd in Oct. '08. No our trailer is NOT over weight. I check the tires each morning that we move. Yes goodyear paid for new tires and the damage to our trailer. But I don't think any of us should be having these problems. Lots of guys on the HDT site of escapees are and have gone to 17.5 in rims and H rated tires to get away from the G614s because of the problems they have had.

RE: Kia automobiles

We also rented a Kia Spectra from Enterprise. Drove it non-stop (except for fuel, food, and restroom breaks) from GA. to IA. Couldn't hear it shift. It was that quiet. The ride was very quiet. Ran 70 to 80 mph and averaged 38 mpg. The only complaint was I wasn't able to see the speedometer. The steering wheel was in the way. Maybe with a tilt-wheel it would have helped. I was able to see the kph and went by that. Someday when we go back to having a car, Kia is on the top of the list.

RE: CDL's and workkamping

In South Dakota. For a CDL you can't use your mail forwarding address on your driver's license. Have to have a physical address. Your mail forwarder can help you out. Your regular driver's license, no problem can use the mail forwarding address. WHY? I do not know. My wife has a CDL and used it one winter in Yuma, AZ. driving motorhomes for LaMesa RV. As for school bus drivers don't know. She refused to drive them because of screaming kids. But all you would have to do is ask the district.

RE: Success or failure: help from the manufacturer

NuWa. Unhappy with the floor fix in the bath area. But happy with everything else they have done for us over the years. Email and/or phone calls gets it done.

RE: When to change water heater anode?

Nice chart, Chris. In almost four years ours is down to the 25% mark. It's a Camco, don't know what it's made out of. Anyone know? I empty the tank and flush it out with a rinse wand once every 6 months.
